Basic Info
Name:Oscar Jugson
Bio
Name: Oscar Jugson
Gender: Male
Character Appearance:

Oscar Jugson is mostly pale and freckled, with ginger hair and brown eyes. He is fairly lean on the lanky side, but he is able to hold his own in a fight. He has numerous tattoos on him (of which, I haven’t come up with a reason for yet. It’s just his PB’s got a lot, so, you know...). He isn’t terribly wealthy so his clothes range from a burlap sack to a collared shirt, or he could go around naked. He doesn’t mind. He likes disturbing people with his appearance, however. He doesn’t care to dress well at all.

Character History

Oscar Jugson is a pureblood. His father, Quintus Jugson, is a person of very high importance in the Ministry of Magic: A high official in the Department of Justice, and an outstanding member of the International Confederation of Wizards. Unfortunately for Oscar, Quintus already has a legitimate family prior to him. His mother, Emily Finley, used to work as Quintus’ secretary, and has been paid large amounts of money to keep Oscar’s existence quiet. Both adults agreed however that the boy would carry his father’s surname. If Quintus could not give his bastard son the life he deserves, he could at least give him the advantage of a well-respected family name.

When Jugson was four, his pureblood mother married a muggle man. The whole family relocated to muggle London. His mother snapped her wand and cut off all connections she had to the Wizarding World except for the monthly monetary support she gets from Quintus. Jugson grew up as a muggle town, in a muggle family, and went to a muggle preparatory school.

He was far too serious for his age. He didn’t believe in santa clause or the tooth fairy. Rainbows are mere refractions of light on the water in the air, and there certainly wasn’t any leprechaun with a pot of gold at the end of it. Bullied in school, Jugson had no time for silly flights of fancy. He often felt out of place, even with his parents. Jugson didn’t believe in magic.

At six years old, Jugson’s younger (and completely muggle) stepsister, Olivia, was born deaf and mute. He is deathly protective of her. They have no trouble communicating to each other. Jugson feels closest affiliation with his sister.

On his eleventh birthday, the letters from Hogwarts arrived. His mother effectively hid them and sent an owl back to Dumbledore saying she wasn’t interested in sending her son to Hogwarts. When Jugson was thirteen, he accidentally boarded the Knight Bus that brought him straight to Diagon Alley. Since then, he had been learning about himself and the wizarding world. Demanding wizard money from his mother, he bought himself a wand. He taught himself most of the spells from spell books, or made friends with older people who could teach him magic (which basically means he doesn’t know a lot). He had always been bitter about never being able to go to Hogwarts.

Since learning about magic, Jugson has started learning about blood politics as well. A stern talk with his mother and a reference on wizard genealogy gave him enough proof of his blood status.

Jugson is sixteen now and is one of the most vocal members of the Pureblood Youth Movement—a radical purist youth group. Most of its members are disenfranchised pureblood youth who feel there is a need to stop wizarding society in its tracks and go back its state of pureblood homogeny (think National Front—Kimglish will explain). He spends most of his time sharing a flat with some of his pureblood mates in Daigon Alley, but he secretly goes back to his mother’s house on occasion to ask for money or to visit Olivia. He doesn’t care to visit Quintus Jugson, or any of his half-brothers and sisters around.

Character Personality:

Jugson is young and paranoid. He is also often angry. He suspects he has a social personality disorder. He often feels misunderstood. He hardly ever jokes, reasoning that joking is a waste of time. He takes himself far too seriously. He blames muggles for most things wrong with his life, and feels slighted by muggleborns who had the chance to study in Hogwarts. He feels that the Wizarding World owes him a lot.

He sees fault in almost everything-- the government, the business sector, the educational system, the workforce, the media-- and is too young and foolhardy to watch his tongue. He would say what is on his mind, regardless of how this makes him look and of the social consequences. He could be a lose cannon sometimes, getting himself in trouble for criticizing authority figures.

Jugson is idealistic to a point. He has read many books in theory to bolster his courage in speaking out, but he rarely thinks of practicality. He is socially aware, but feels that problems in society can be solved by one swift, radical move. He believes muggles and muggleborns are inferior to purebloods, but he keeps his stepsister a secret. He can be a hypocrite at time. He is often oblivious of this.
